My Background - Having grown up in the small town of Athens, GA, I enjoyed all the benefits that a university town has to offer! By the time I could talk I was cheering for my beloved Georgia Bulldogs. Staying close to home where my heart was, I went to college at the University of Georgia, where I achieved a BBA degree in Business and a dual MBA in Marketing and Sport Management. After graduation, I moved to Knoxville, TN, where I managed gyms and worked as a personal trainer, until my deep love of gardening, florals and design led me to start my own company, Creations by Christy, which became the largest female-owned landscaping company in East Tennessee. I also began restoring historical homes built in the 1800's and worked in new construction for eight years. I even met my husband and soul-mate, Michael Seguin, while living there. I definitely fell in love with houses and construction. I loved it because you start the day with a mess, and at the end of the day you have something beautiful!
In 2001, Michael was recruited to South Carolina, and we settled in Chapin on the  shores of spectacular Lake Murray. With the change I chose to close my company and become a REALTOR® because my Master's Degree in Marketing, plus my background in construction, remodeling, landscaping, and design uniquely prepared me for the day to day challenges of real estate. I have found that my extensive experience has been a huge advantage to me in helping my clients. I missed being in the construction industry, and dreamed of owning my own custom home building company. My Interests - I love to exercise and most days you will find me in the gym either lifting weights or kickboxing. When it's warm, or even when it's not, Michael and I will be on our boat, the "Soul Mate". All we need is an excuse! During football season, you'll find me cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs, and during basketball season, I'm a rabid San Antonio Spurs fan! (Michael is from San Antonio, and his grandmother named the team!) I passionately love animals, and try to speak for them and protect them, since they can't speak for themselves. I love gardening and reading great books. One of my favorite things about real estate is meeting new friends every day! My Family - I am married to Michael Seguin, and we are celebrating our sixth anniversary this year. We held our wedding aboard the 'Southern Patriot' boat in the middle of our beloved Lake Murray. We have one four-legged 'son', a big fat white cat named 'Jukebox' because he sings all the time. I love exotic animals and I also have a large--130 lb!-- Timberwolf/Arctic Wolf mix named 'Fury' (the name totally doesn't fit--he's a lover!) and he stays at my parents' cattle farm in Georgia where he has hundreds of acres to play on. I grew up on that farm, and I only have one younger sister--no brothers--which means that I was the farm hand by default, and is why I know how to operate tractors, backhoes, and Bobcats! I am the proud Aunt to Matthew and Haven Wells of Athens, GA and Kristofer, Angelique and Kamron Salinas of San Antonio, TX--the best nephews and nieces in the world! |
